Day 1 – Arrival in Ouarzazate
Driving: 15–30 min | Highlights: Gateway to the Sahara, Morocco’s cinema capital
Arrive in Ouarzazate and meet your local guide. Transfer to your hotel or riad. Depending on your arrival time, relax or take a short walk around the city.
Overnight: Hotel / Riad in Ouarzazate
Day 2 – Ouarzazate → Agdez → Nkob (Draa Valley Trek)
Driving: 4–5 hrs | Trekking: 2.5–3 hrs (easy/moderate)
Travel through arid landscapes and volcanic plateaus to Agdez. Trek from Tamnougalte Kasbah through lush palm groves, ancient ksour, and Berber villages. Stop at Ait Hamou Ousaid viewpoint for panoramic Draa Valley views. Continue to Nkob, known for its historic kasbahs.
Overnight: Traditional Kasbah in Nkob
Day 3 – Nkob → Erg Znigue Desert
Driving: 3.5–4 hrs | Camel Ride: 1 hr
Journey south to the remote Erg Znigue Desert. Ride camels at sunset across untouched dunes. Arrive at a luxury desert camp with private tents, hot showers, and traditional dinner under the stars.
Overnight: Luxury Sahara Desert Camp
Day 4 – Desert Trekking: Erg Znigue → Erg Chebbi → Khamlia
Trekking: 5–6 hrs | Driving: 1–1.5 hrs
Trek across dunes, rocky desert, and ancient caravan paths. Visit Mifis lead mines and meet nomadic families. End at Khamlia village, home of the Gnawa community, for music, culture, and a Berber pizza lunch.
Overnight: Riad in Merzouga / Khamlia
Day 5 – Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley
Driving: 5–6 hrs | Walking: 1 hr
Leave the desert for the Atlas Mountains. Walk along the Todra Gorges, towering canyons over 300 meters. Continue through Berber villages and scenic valleys to the Dades region, famous for its dramatic rock formations and kasbahs.
Overnight: Hotel / Guesthouse in Dades Valley
Day 6 – Dades Valley → Boutghrar Nomads → Skoura → Ouarzazate
Driving: 4–5 hrs | Trekking: 2–3 hrs
Explore Boutghrar region, trek through valleys and plateaus, and meet nomadic families. Visit Kasbah Amridil, then walk through Skoura Oasis with palm groves and hidden kasbahs.
Overnight: Hotel / Riad in Ouarzazate
Day 7 – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah & Fint Oasis (Optional Transfer to Marrakech)
Local Exploration: 2–3 hrs | Driving to Marrakech: ~4 hrs
Tour Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous filming location. Continue to the hidden Fint Oasis for walks through palm groves and villages. Optional transfer to Marrakech for onward travel.
Overnight: Hotel in Ouarzazate or Marrakech (optional)
Day 8 – Departure
Driving: 15–30 min
Transfer to Ouarzazate Airport for your departure flight. End of your trekking, desert, and cultural journey through Southern Morocco.
